throughout the world, in particular in California & Scotland.
Muir spent two years in the Meaford area of Georgian Bay where he
worked for the Trout Family Mill making rakes. Remnants of the mill
remain today and can be viewed by hiking the Trout Hollow trail

Around the Bay
Discover the Tay Shore Trail starting in Waubaushene ( at Highway
12-Highway 400 interchange) and ending in Midland, Ontario. This
recently built trail is a nice flat and paved trail for cyclists,
joggers, hikers, and rollerbladers. You can also go off trail and
explore the towns of Waubausene Victoria Harbour, Port McNicoll
and Midland & Penetanguishene. The trail runs along the shore
with a park at the Trestle Park. Hogg bay is visible from parts

The Algonquin Park to Georgian Bay's Killbear Provincial
Park Trail
In the summer of 1998, following the recommendations from a joint
meeting of Town Councils (Parry Sound and Huntsville), the Park-To-Park
Trail Association was formed. Currently the trail is a work
in progress. The Park-To-Park Trail is truly a 'regional' initiative.
The trail system is a multi use trail system. The long term objective
is to provide seamless trail system encompassing community trails,
snowmobile routes, historic colonization and logging roads, former
rail beds, new links and some secondary roads. |
